June 2024
Happy June! We wanted to send a special ‘Thank You’ to all the parents who generously donated items for the school store and May raffle. Over this past year, students earned Cobra Coupons by displaying R.I.S.E.(Respect, Include, Strive, and Empower) behaviors and could choose to spend them at the store two Fridays each month. The students enjoyed participating in the May raffle for a chance to win higher dollar gift cards and we had many participants! Three students from each grade level were chosen live on the TV morning news. They were so excited to win. We greatly appreciate your willingness to donate to support our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) efforts at GMS.
Our students are looking forward to the fourth quarter PBIS Community Celebration day incentive, which will be on June 11th. We will be celebrating ALLl of our students’ positive behaviors with a special treat.
Thank you for your support this year! We love that our parents support our PBIS efforts at GMS! Have a great summer!
May 2024
Thank you again to parents who continue contributing items to our school store. Students are earning Cobra Coupons when they display R.I.S.E. behaviors in and out of the classroom setting. We are also working on encouraging students to continue displaying these positive behaviors. Even though the end of the year is an exciting time, it is important for students to remain focused on instruction and ending the year on a positive note.
Since we are nearing the end of the school year, there are not many Fridays left to cash in the coupons. This month students have the opportunity to decide on if they are going to cash in their coupons at the school store, or submit them in a drawing for a chance to win a Gift Card to Amazon. Three lucky winners per grade will be chosen at the end of the month.
April 2024
Thank you to all the parents who generously donated items for the school store. Students who have earned Cobra Coupons by displaying R.I.S.E. behaviors can spend them in the store two Fridays a month. Requests for donations to support this effort are sent out several times each year.
Students can recognize each other for R.I.S.E. behaviors as well. They can submit “Call Outs” for classmates that they catch displaying R.I.S.E. behaviors. Students will receive any forms that were written for them during homeroom twice a month.
We celebrated all of our students’ positive behavior with our third quarter PBIS Incentive Day on Friday, April 12. Thank you to all of the parents who helped by donating the yummy snacks we gave out during the movie!
We want to thank all the parents who generously donated items for the school store. Students have been earning Cobra Coupons by displaying R.I.S.E. behaviors, which can be spent in the store two Fridays a month. As our supply dwindles, we will be sending out another wishlist.
This year students have an opportunity to “Call Out” classmates that they catch displaying R.I.S.E. behaviors using a “Cobra Call Out” form and dropping it in the “Call Out” box on the stage in the cafeteria. Twice a month, the box will be emptied, and students will receive any forms that were written for them during homeroom. We are excited to offer another way students can be recognized.
On October 31st, we celebrated our first quarter PBIS Incentive Day. We had a shortened class schedule that day that allowed us to celebrate all of our students’ positive behavior. Students took part in fun activities in the classroom for the last hour of the school day. We look forward to celebrating again at the end of the second quarter on January 17th.
