"Be Prepared, Be Responsible, Be Respectful"

Midnight Madness - March 23, 2012

This year, the Midnight Madness fundraiser basketball event will raise money to support the American Red Cross.  Scholarships will be awarded to three former GMS students in honor of Doug Parker, Dan Ecker and JoAnn Knight.  In addition to these events, we will have the "Shave Your Head" booth with all money being donated to Sam Forman's Relay for Life Team.

Students who choose to participate will sign up on teams with their friends.  There must be at least 8 and no more than 10 players on a team.  Each team will play in two basketball games.  Each team must have two chaperones present throughout the entire Midnight Madness event. Each player is responsible for the $25 entry fee. This fee includes a t-shirt, 2 slices of pizza, soda and having a GREAT time for a good cause.  Students who are interested in participating but do not have a team should see Mrs. Delisle or Mr. Dingman to be placed on an open team.

All teams must be registered by February 10th.  Captains of each team must turn in:
1.  Team Roster (ON PAPER)
2.  Chaperones (2 per team)
3.  Checks or cash and a signed permission slip for every participant.
Note:  Each Player must fill out an online participation form and a paper permission slip.

Once again, our school will be using a web-based application called Pick-A-Time to schedule parent/teacher conferences to be held February 15-17, 2012.  Parents with Internet access will be able to go on-line to schedule parent/teacher conferences, print out their schedule, and have an e-mail reminder of their appointments sent to them.

This program is easy to use and can be accessed at your convenience beginning January 30th at 3:00 p.m.  Three of your student's teachers may be selected.  On February 6th, starting at 8:00 a.m., you may select other teachers to conference with based on their availability.  You will be able to access this program to schedule or cancel your appointments until February 13th at 12 Noon.  No conferences can be scheduled or rescheduled during the conference dates after Pick-A-Time is closed.  After Pick-A-Time is closed, please cancel your appointments by calling 410-313-5520.

To access this program, please click on the Pick-A-Time Conference Scheduler icon. On this same HCPSS website, you will find directions for scheduling your conferences.  You will need your child's student ID number (9 digits including 0's) that can be located on your studentís report card.  Note that a student ID number cannot be given over the telephone.

It is suggested that parents use information on the HCPSS Family Portal and the report card to determine which teachers should be scheduled for conferences.

If you do not have Internet access, please call Mrs. Parker between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to schedule your conferences beginning January 31st.

To accommodate the volume of schedules, we need to adhere tightly to the 15-minute conference times.  There is a 5-minute transition break in between each scheduled conference.  Please be prompt in attending your conferences.  In addition, walk-in conferences will not be available.  Parents will be greeted in the school foyer by a staff member during conference week and given a map of the school, if needed.

If you have any questions, please call 410-313-5520.
