Glenelg High School Color Guard Information

Thu, 05/23/2024 - 10:29am
The Glenelg High School color guard will be holding workshops next week for any rising 9th-12th graders who are interested in joining the squad for the fall marching season. What is the color guard you ask? Color Guard is a sport which combines the movement of dance with the equipment work of flags, swing flags and rifles. This equipment work includes both intricate in-hand skills as well as tosses. During the fall marching season, the Glenelg Color Guard performs as part of the Glenelg Marching Unit during the halftime shows at home football games.

If you are interested in trying this fun and challenging activity, please come to the Color Guard Workshops on Wednesday, May 29 from 5:30-7:00 and Thursday, May 30 from 3:30-5:00. Please meet by the Glenelg auditorium and wear comfortable clothes. If you have any questions, please contact the Color Guard Director, Barbara Ball at BarbaraLHBall@gmail.com.
