I am pleased to let you know that the latest reports on the air quality measurements taken at Glenwood Middle School continue to show favorable results.
Aria Environmental, Inc. recently completed reports on the sampling for mold spore counts and other air quality indicators taken in multiple indoor and two outdoor locations on each date. These were the latest in a series of scheduled tests following the upgrade of the school HVAC system.
The results for both assessments show that total mold spore counts for the indoor measurements continue to be significantly lower than the spore counts found outdoors. Specifically, the indoor spore counts measured in the main building classrooms on September 24 ranged from 273 to 2,000 total spores per cubic meter of air, while counts in the portable classrooms ranged from 333 to 2,480 total spores per cubic meter. Outdoor counts were approximately 23 times higher on average than indoor counts, with measurements taken in the two outdoor locations ranging from 24,680 to 25,020 total spores per cubic meter.
The indoor counts taken on September 30 ranged from 1,267 to 12,767 total spores per cubic meter. In the portable classrooms, counts ranged from 7,253 to 11,365 per cubic meter. Outdoor counts were approximately 12 times higher on average than indoor counts, with measurements taken in the two outdoor locations ranging from 55,396 to 69,421 total spores per cubic meter.
The results of the other air quality assessments also remain favorable overall. Temperature and relative humidity levels on both test dates fell mostly within the comfort ranges established by ASHRAE, with a few exceptions slightly above the comfort ranges. All other measurements remain within the acceptable ranges for good air quality in all areas.
