The Hour of Code, created by Code.org, is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code, show that everyone can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.
The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. December 9-15 marks the 10th annual HCPSS Hour of Code and Computer Science Education Week. HCPSS schools will be participating in this event in the capacity deemed appropriate for each level. Every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. At Glenwood, students will participate in The Hour of Code through their science class.
